TITLE: KINDERGARTEN IN REGUŁY   |   YEAR: 2019   |   WHERE: REGUŁY   |   FOR: CITY HALL REGUŁY

The architectural competition tasked participants with the urban development of a central city area spanning 68,000 square meters.

Out of 37 submissions, 5 of the most intriguing concepts were invited to the second stage. The challenge of this stage was to design an energy-efficient kindergarten within the designated area.

This project allowed our design team to delve into pro-ecological solutions and conduct a study on child ergonomics.
The design intent was to break the building into smaller, less overwhelming structures for young children, and to utilize the archetype of a house as drawn by a child. This approach aimed to create a more welcoming and familiar environment for the children, fostering a sense of comfort and security.
We aimed to ensure that the heart of the kindergarten was a garden, providing a sense of intimacy, privacy, and tranquility. To achieve this, the building's form separates the garden from the bustling promenade. On the remaining sides, a mound covered with dense vegetation was proposed to further enhance the sense of seclusion and connection with nature.

We took 2nd place.
